As I am immersing myself in the study of money and how to allow financial freedom and independence to be my life, I realized earlier today that I am slipping away from my spiritual practice.
And I am slipping away at the expense of my sanity.
Just as learning to allow money to work for me (which is how sustained financial freedom and independence are created) is about making choices that are in alignment with that, if peace, joy, harmony, and balance are what I desire, I need to make choices that are in alignment with that.
Nothing new, nothing strange about that. And yet, something I was reminded of earlier today, as I found myself in a funk.
It is all about choices. All about making conscious choices that are in alignment with what we wish to experience.
No one just finds ever-expanding peace. Just as no one ever just finds expanding financial abundance.
Yes, there are moments when we experience peace, just as there are people who have a sudden windfall and come into a lot of money.
But as I am learning from my current deep study of money, as well as having been my own personal experience and teachings, unless we make choices that are in alignment with the good we wish to experience, that good will not become permanent or ever-expanding.
The Foundation We Build Is Everything
In other words, as I wish to experience a greater sense of financial freedom and independence, I need to make choices that are in alignment with that. Choices that I, historically, have not made - or even really been aware existed.
Likewise, as I want to experience ever-expanding peace, joy, and harmony, regardless of conditions and circumstances, I need to make choices that are in alignment with that.
And not only once or twice. Not even once in a while. But consistently. On a regular basis. I need to make these choices habitual.
It has been said that the only thing that really ever separates anyone who is truly excelling from anyone who currently is not, is their habits.
The ones excelling have habits that support excellence, while the other has habits that support mediocrity.
Now, I am not judging anyone. But we are all wise to ask ourselves on a regular basis - Am I making choices that are in alignment with the good I wish to experience?
Or as I sometimes phrase it: This choice that I am about to make / just made, is it in alignment with the good I wish to experience?
If it is, then great. If it isn’t, we now have the opportunity to make a new choice. A higher choice.
Sometimes The Ego Gets The Final Word
Having said all this, I also want to say that moving forward, I will begin to share what I am learning from my study of money and how to create financial freedom.
I thought about sharing some of what I have learned while recording today’s video, but in honesty, I gave in to that egoic voice that was shouting, “You don’t know enough to share this with anyone, you best be quiet.”
True, the more I learn, the more I realize how much I don’t know, but still, I know so much more now than I did just a couple of weeks ago.
And as all of this is about learning and changing the way we move (transformation) there is no harm in sharing the insights and realizations I have come to.
Alright, before this turns into a 1000-word essay, I will stop for now.
So until we meet again, next week,
much love and many blessings to you.
Namaste 💜✨
